Cameron Eekhoudt (he/him) is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Experimental Medicine at the University of British Columbia and the British Columbia Children’s Hospital Research Institute. His research delves into the diverse recovery and healing trajectories of youth who use illicit substances across British Columbia, with a focus on using qualitative methodologies to capture their nuanced experiences. As Co-Lead of the Youth Overdose Prevention Research Cluster’s Family and Caregiver Advisory, he advocates for the integration of lived experiences into research, ensuring the voices of those most impacted continually guide the work. Outside of his academic pursuits, Cameron is a proud uncle to two wonderful kids and finds joy in hiking, yoga, and exploring the outdoors—often with a cup of coffee in hand!
